5 Songs You Should Know

These are the songs that I am in love with at the moment. They're crazy. They're insane. They're brilliant. They're loud. They're addictive. They're lovely.

   1) "Constellations" Enter Shikari
If you don't know who this band is, then it's cool. Just now you know who they are. Warning, this band is intense and has a habit of screaming bad words. This band also gets you pumped, makes you want to know the lyrics and to learn how to play the drums/guitar/piano/synthesizer. The lyrics to all of their songs are unique, opinionated, and seemingly well thought out while being political, offensive, and criticial. I love them!

This song, "Constellations," is from their new album "A Flash Flood of Colour." I bought the album Saturday and have listened to it in its entirety about five times. It's all I listen to. Every song is unique and almost poetic. If you like this song, listen to "Ssssnakepit," "Meltdown," and "Gandhi Mate, Gandhi" to get a heavier taste of Enter Shikari. All from the new album.
 
   2) "Turn Me On" David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj
So wrong it's right. Between the beat and the insanity of just the song as a whole, it's pretty intense. I like music that you can dance to, and if you can't dance to this then you can't dance to anything. Just blasting the speakers to this is fun. I love dance music, like house music ya' know? So in turn, I really like David Guetta. I haven't liked Nicki Minaj until this song. Mainly because "Turn Me On" is just fun.

This track comes from David's new album "Nothing But the Beat." Of course, it's a fun album and the people that sing on it just make it all the more fun. Check out "Without You" ft. Usher. That's another one that I like.
 
   3) "Drive All Night" NEEDTOBREATHE
I basically just love the song for all it's worth. Somewhere between the power of his vocals, the banjo strumming, and the drums pounding my heart melts a little more with each piano chord. This is a song that just screams feelings of longing and wanting a sense of belonging. To me, he's just all like somethings need to change and this is what I need to be the person I want to be. It's refreshing to have a song like this in the world today. Plus, there's just a sense of renewal in anything that closely resembles a roadtrip.

   4) "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" Amy Winehouse
Sadly, the reason why I like this song is because of her posthumous album. I've always loved the song "Valerie" that she did with Mark Ronson, but I felt like I needed to hear a little jazzier, classic song done by Miss Winehouse. This song doesn't fail at all and her vocals on it are amazing. It has all the feelings that I feel that a song like this should have.

Amy Winehouse's album "Lioness:Hidden Treasures" is where you can find this song and others like "Our Day Will Come" and "Valerie('68 Version)."
 
     5) "Jacksonville Skyline" Whiskeytown
This song is brilliant. I'm pretty sure that this song has appeared elsewhere on my blog, I'm just not sure where. Ryan Adam's voice is just the perfect balance of nostalgia and beauty. Leaning more towards the nostaligic side on this song, though. It just seems like the epitome of that romantic sounding song that just relaxes you. This song, and a lot of his others, seems to be right. What feels right in a song. Ryan Adam's lyrics really top off a song and make them amazing.

"Jacksonville Skyline" is from Whiskeytown's last album "Pnemonia." Like this one? Then have a listen to "16 Days," "A Song For You" or "Sit and Listen To The Rain."
