The Poofs of the Whiffen

So, two words:

Yale Whiffenpoofs.

They recently came to my little podunk town because one of our own made it into this prestigous group. I had never heard of them until we bought our tickets. Then they showed up at my school to sing and everything was thrown out the window. I was in love.

Seriously, I am still like in starstruck/awe-struck mode. Then that night at the college when they sang I almost cried at like every song. It was just all so beautiful! After the show, in regular teenage form, I talked to them and got autographs and it was just awesome. They are all so nice and literally like some of the most talented people out there right now. And they're funny! Oh my goodness gracious their version of "Midnight Train To Georgia" was classic!! One of them played the role of Gladys Knight and another three were the Pips. It was hilarious! Also, Brandon Hayse sang "Grace Kelly" by MIKA and just knocked it out of the ballpark. I loved the Yale football medley, and just everything else. The Whiffenpoofs sang "I'll Be Seeing You" and I swear, I thought I was gonna' cry it was just so perfect. Daniel the Whiffenpoof sang "Down by The Salley Gardens" and that was so perfect.

Our hometown boy belted out a song and did it amazingly. And honestly, he totally deserves everything that comes his way. When I asked for his autograph he said "It won't be worth much." In reply I just had to go "Yeah, it will be, someday."

Then a Mr Henry Gottfried got up and sang "Rainbow Connection." I'm getting shivers just thinking about it! Holy cow. It was so beautiful and perfect and he has the voice of an angel and he's hilarious and kind and just perfect. He was the emcee for the evening and just so awesome. He was also one of the Pips. And he's know as the tallest Whiffenpoof, which he so totally is.

Also they told this story about what will happen to you or your loved ones if you go the Cambridge, MA and to Harvard. I'm pretty sure everybody in the auditorium was crying of laughter. Also, after the show at the college I went up to one Whiffenpoof, I think it was the other Brandon, and he said "Hello from earlier today." OH MY GOSH! A Whiffenpoof remembered me! That's my fangirl moment. One day in Yearbook I was talking to my friend about them and she spent a lot of time with them because her best friend is the little sister of the hometown Whiff and she goes "I know! All the time I'm just all like 'Oh my goodness a Whiffenpoof just handed me a carrot!'" It was hilarious.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, here is the most wonderful voice like ever. Henry Gottfried.

(This song has been on repeat)
